Wow! Cool gigs! well done Mahalo! and plaudits to the Japanese subsidiaries/parent companies of the big majors (DG, Sony) who seem to be one step ahead of everyone else in Europe and in the US in terms of quality/innovation of anniversary products (with the notable exception of EMI and their "complete" edition)...

Hello mahalo! Yes, our dreams come true! I've bought many CDs and DVDs on "HMV" and I'm very satisfied with their services; we hope to soon be able to do pre-orders and that there is the translation into English! ****** ****** Thanks to the Japanese! Rosy

Mahalo - very many thanks for this information. In my book this is possibly the most interesting issue of the Centenary so far. There follows a link to a Google translation of the Tower Records page although this doesn’t really add anything further to the details already supplied by Mahalo. tinyurl.com/5z2m83Unless I am missing something, I think that it would not be possible for a non-Japanese speaker to order from Tower Records. I will therefore be keeping a close eye on Amazon Japan and CDJAPAN although as far as I can see the issue has not yet appeared on these sites. Yes, you’re absolutely right Rosy - our dreams come true! Best wishes also to our friends in Japan.

Thanks for the page translated, David!
Our Japanese Friends teach us many things, in this case, they showed us the love and respect for a great artist and his work! All this with care and sensitivity for details: I saw the nice cover with the image of the Maestro. It's true, David, unfortunately, for preorder we must wait "Amazon" or "HMV", which I recommend for the precision and speed.

Thank you again

Hello everyone,
Thank you very much for your interests in the set. I am afraid if the price for the set may be wrong in the translated page. Its price is 21,000 yen. (not 2,500 yen) It is about US $200.

Hi David
Yes - interesting question! And with Sterling's continuous slide on the money markets a further factor is added !
With best wishes for your forthcoming (?) birthday,
Lee

Hello again Lee,
Many thanks for your birthday wishes. Yes, the day itself has now passed and I have the Sony 40 DVD boxed set. As you would expect from Japan it is very nicely put together with much attention to detail and it looks very impressive even before opening. However it is the baton, as you have mentioned previously, that intrigues. I mean, who would really be at all bothered about 40 Telemondial DVDs when there’s a Karajan baton included and ready for use?
I can sense that you’re willing me on to post a clip of myself using it onto YOUTUBE and then link this into the Forum, but you’ll just have to give me some time to think this one over first. I need to decide which finale to do; I am presently torn between Beethoven 9 or Bruckner 8.
Best Wishes - David

In Italy, in most concerts, is used as practice, starting with Intermezzo of Manon Lescau, by Giacomo Puccini, and always ending with Overture from La Forza del Destino, by Giuseppe Verdi, so the public has returned home satisfied! *** *** *** In your case, I will suggest a "profound" begin with Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 8, and grant us a grand final with Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No. 9!Thank you! Best regards, Lee Hi Lee, It is very difficult to chose only one performance in the set. However, I can say that I prefer Dvorak 8th, Tchaikovsky 5th and Mozart 40th among them. Thanks,
