Sony Music Entertainment will release the above DVD on May.21th. www.hmv.co.jp/product/detail/2713120I think it is the first OFFICIAL DVD release of the movie. Once Universal Japan released it as a not-for-sale DVD.

There were a video ,converted in laser as well, from DEUTSCHE GRAMOPHON issued with the same title "Karajan in Salzburg", at late 80's, which de most interesting was the rehersal and footage plaiyng of Wagner's Liebestod with Jessye Norman. It will be interesting to see what Sony it is going to show us. Rosy I hope to read your comments, and I hope you will enjoy "Maestro on the screen" Regards. halcover1

I saw the piece on "you tube" ; it's very moving! Of course, halcover1, I'll write my impressions on documentaries. Frankly, I'm very curious to see "Karajan in Salzburg" because someone told me that the Maestro speaks all languages known by him: you imagine karajan which begins in French, continues in English and ends in Italian!...and he thinks in "Viennese!" *********************************************************************************Rosy
