Compiling a vast amount of historical information must have been very difficult for John Hunt, I would imagine not everyone would have being forthcoming and indeed where John was relying on personal information memories of those willing to give it may have faded. Anyway I have a few bits of info that may assist.
The Strauss CD 419 188-2 Vier Letzte Lieder did have the Telemondial Logo on it.
A few years ago a friend in Japan sent me a DVD copy of the Oaska 1984 concert and the Overtures you mentioned (Coriolan sadly not included) these had the Telemondial Logo and I would imagine came from the original Video or Laser Discs only available in Japan at that time.
The Missa Solemnis and the Brahms 1 & 2 I copied to DVD a year or so ago from digital TV broadcasts in the UK by Artsworld (now SKY Arts) infact the Missa is being broadcast agian this week I think.
Over the years I have tried to obtain more information from Sony about the Karajan Legacy, this has proved very difficult, infact they could not tell me to this day why the Strauss Spharenklange was left off the 1985 new years eve concert DVD when it appeared in both the TV and Radio broadcats. Furhtermore we still do not have the 1982 'live' Beethoven 3rd or the 'live' Bruckner 9th available on DVD in the UK.

Oh, the discography is amazing. It's much easier to read than Robinson's, which looks cuttered, and Hunt's has fewer errors. However, the Strauss CD 419 188-2 Vier Letzte Lieder did not have the Telemondial logo. I have it. Here it is: No logo. Do you perhaps have a version that has it? The digital Heldenlebel and Till/Quixote had the Telemondial logo, but not this release. A few years ago a friend in Japan sent me a DVD copy of the Oaska 1984 concert and the Overtures you mentioned (Coriolan sadly not included) these had the Telemondial Logo and I would imagine came from the original Video or Laser Discs only available in Japan at that time. Or from TV broadcasts. Sony Japan officially released on DVD all of the Telemondial films that had been released on laserdisc in the U.S. (including those that never made it to DVD in the U.S., like the Bruckner 9th, the Mozart Requiem, the Heldenleben, and the Brahms 1&2), but no Pines, Missa, or Overtures. It still hasn't been proven that these were ever released, even in Japan. But ultimately, it doesn't matter, as they will finally be getting a release next month. The Missa Solemnis and the Brahms 1 & 2 I copied to DVD a year or so ago from digital TV broadcasts in the UK by Artsworld (now SKY Arts) infact the Missa is being broadcast agian this week I think. It must be nice to have such stations in Europe! I see the German Sat3 channel broadcasts them as well. (They're playing Pictures at an Exhibition this month, I believe.) We North Americans are rather underprivileged by comparison. The Breakfast with the Arts airings were the only time the Telemondial films ever appeared on North American television (possibly with the addition of the one Alpensinfonie broadcast on PBS, if it was indeed the 1983 film). Over the years I have tried to obtain more information from Sony about the Karajan Legacy, this has proved very difficult, infact they could not tell me to this day why the Strauss Spharenklange was left off the 1985 new years eve concert DVD when it appeared in both the TV and Radio broadcats. I wonder if it was done to keep the film to one side of a Laserdisc. I can't recall what the exact running time of an LD side is, but maybe that's why the Sphaerenklange was left off the 1985 New Year's film, and why the Coriolan was left off the Overtures film -- to save money by having the LDs only encoded on one side. Needless to say, this wouldn't matter on DVD, so why Sony wouldn't restore them is a mystery, except perhaps they're simply still working with whatever material Telemondial provided for them in the first place. Furhtermore we still do not have the 1982 'live' Beethoven 3rd or the 'live' Bruckner 9th available on DVD in the UK.John Well, at least you'll be getting the Bruckner 9th in the forthcoming re-release (March 3rd), coupled with the 8th. www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00122M2HE/The product listing at amazon.co.uk only says 8th, but the packaging clearly shows that the 9th is included as well: The prices for these re-releases are amazingly affordable.

However, the Strauss CD 419 188-2 Vier Letzte Lieder did not have the Telemondial logo. But the vinyl version DG 419 188-1 does have the Telemondial logo on the back of the sleeve:

But the vinyl version DG 419 188-1 does have the Telemondial logo on the back of the sleeve: Interesting, though, that the CD did not, where the others did. Perhaps the film was abandoned, like the Vienna Four Seasons? Or perhaps it will still see the light of day someday -- coupled with the elusive, might-have, might-not-have-been filmed Till Eulenspiegel? One can only hope...

Yes, I have in front of me the CDs of Vier Letzte Lieder 419 188-2 and Don Quixote etc 439 027-2 and both have the Telemondial Logo on them.
Good news re - the Bruckner 8 & 9 and yes great value, we can get the Sony single DVD discs in the UK post free online for £6.73.

The Don Quixote of course, but your 419 188-2 CD has a different back cover than mine? How interesting that there should be two versions. I purchased mine when it was initially released (note the reference to "West Germany"). Actually, that leads to another interesting question. Since the point was made earlier about Karajan films appearing on various European satellite channels, has anyone seen any of the other Telemondial films that have never been released on LD or DVD? The Four Last Songs, the Till, the later Brahms, the Wagner concert, etc....have any of these turned up on satellite broadcasts? Anywhere?

Seems reasonable to believe that there are many overlaps in "produced" vs "live". I had thought that the canon during the 1987 New Year was an unscheduled shot. Nevertheless, it remains for me a great video. Too bad I missed the (only?) chance to be conducted by K without an audition.
As all of you probably know by now, K's Te Deum is available on a DG DVD.
According to karajan.org there was no bolero in Jan 1985. Yes, it is a mystery why the Music of the Spheres was chopped off in the December bolero. Perhaps he didn't want us to see where he put the baton (It came just before the batonless bolero).
(The 1987 New Year also have missing sections. For example, his speech before the Donau Waltz)
Another (interesting) note on the December bolero video: There are two versions for the cover - one with "Bolero" highlighted in red, one without. I have the red version (PAL, by the way).
