I like to go to back in time.....the old engravings fascinate me irresistibly.
*****************************************************************************
- Beethoven, Sym.n. 7 in La maggiore op.92
(recording: London, 1951/52)
- Schubert, Sym.n.8 in si minore D.759 "Incompiuta"
- Brahms, Variazioni su tema di Haydn op.56 a
(recording: London, 1955 Philharmonia Orchestra)
Conductor: Herbert von Karajan
******************************************************************************
Karajan followed throughout his life a distinctive style in the interpretation of Beethoven. It's warns in this recording in which there is Toscanini's Idea. In other words, absolute precision, fidelity to the text, but from which differed for a more lyrical and soft setting that will became as a result, his imprint. All this is percepible in the recording that port as an example. You can see the vitality revealed by the pace and turned strongly supported and lit by a flash of light. The "Allegretto" amazes pace for precise and pathos not ostentatious that takes our breath away...
The "Incompiuta" by Schubert. Karajan, in this engraving, gives an reading from the preponderant lyricism and from the extreme clarity structural.
Later, with the Berliner, will give the privilege to the emotional content.
Brahms "Variazioni". The Karajan's love for this page, feels in this engraving , I've listened many times, in which the splendid exhibition of the musical structure prevails about emotinal narration, as happen after.
