Hi all,
I've been wondering. What type of scores did Karajan use? I know he didn't write much in the scores like Bernstein, but thoroughly studied the music. In the Karajan in Rehearsal and Performance Video, I noticed he uses a mini score. he didn't flip pages, while conducting, didn't look at the score much, and only used it as a guide for measure numbers and specific notes. What type of scores did he use? All mini, study study scores, or was it just in that video. What brand and publisher were the scores? Did he have a specif favorite and preference or did he use whatever was available? Please respond, I am very interested.

Hello There is no information on what publisher he liked or used , but he used the miniature scores in the rehearsals but as you know he just used it to see the number of measures . He didn’t like to write his analysis or Interpretation in the score , he believed that the conductor should memorize it .
