A visitor to my website gave me a link to the following film extract posted on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UF6SFVI7PFk&feature=relatedIt is a shame that Richter's view of Karajan is so negative regarding the legendary recording of the Beethoven Triple Concerto. However, as my visitor pointed out, it is the footage of Karajan and Sir John Barbirolli in conversation (1.11minutes - 1.32 minutes) which is interesting and very illuminating. They obviously have a close and friendly rapport. If only we could have heard their conversation............

Linda,
I had seen the movie on " You Tube ", on December 2007, just loaded.
Richter-Oistrakh-Rostropovitch, three great soloists,
karajan, magnificent conductor.
Beethoven: Triple Concerto
Wow, four in one shot! Image are fun! The story is well know, but in the movie there is a real gem! H.v. Karajan and Sir J. Barbirolli speaking in the ear and laugh....very fun-filled!!! The topic....Sssst! Secret of Conductor!!!
