Karajan look at him with an interrogative and dappointed expression........because...... there isn't Beethoven's sinf. ....; then saids to him:" But... as .. YOU DON'T LIKE MY BEETHOVEN?? By far the finest Beethoven I've ever heard -- and I've listened to a great deal, both live and on record. Perhaps his agent wanted a tamer, more diminished Beethoven. Karajan's is Beethoven the Romantic hero. Here's a little preview of the Overtures film, for those who have not yet seen it on the satellite channels -- the imposing "Egmont" overture. www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1yxWXHLWcY&fmt=18Powerful, brooding, thrilling -- whenever I hear Karajan conduct Beethoven, I verily believe that I am hearing Beethoven himself, simply using Karajan as a "host body" to bring his works to life.

darkehmen, the tone of his agent was perhaps provocatorie, see karajan so disappointed was unusual attitude!!!!
Beethoven's Symphonies, conducted by Karajan, are a gift from God. Perfection is not of this world, but I'm convinced that Karajan has touched lightly and.....perhaps....more.
The Sinf.n°7 is the most evident example, a scary balance between technical and emotional abandonment.......( Allegretto ) I cannot say anymore....we cannot describe the beauty supreme.
