Does anyone know where I can find a complete Deutsche Grammophon Karajan discography? I would like to find out which recordings I don't have yet. My EMI collections should soon be complete when I get the complete recordings boxes!

Hi, The following topic may help you: www.hvk1955.proboards60.com/index.cgi?board=recordings&action=display&thread=1200777980I also know a book on ALMOST all of Karajan recordings which however was written in Japanese, not in English.

I realise that you are only interested in Deutsche Grammophon recordings but I always recommend John Hunt's books. In fact, the Centrum database was based on his work and his assistance was acknowledged on the first version of their web site. His books are an invaluable resource: "PHILHARMONIC AUTOCRAT 1"Discography (2000) "PHILHARMONIC AUTOCRAT 2"Concert Register (2001) I think that they are still available from the following British bookshop chain: bookshop.blackwell.co.uk/

I recently ordered the first volume from Blackwell's. It took a while, but it finally shipped. It's in transit now. It will be interesting to see how it compares to the more recent discography in Robinson's book, which has the advantage of being more current, but definitely has errors and omissions -- quite a few, as it turns out.
