A DVD issued by ARTHAUS. It is a must. I agree with your comments with the "O r beauty as I see it", which doesen't gives too much to we already know. This os not he case with this one. Nice footage, and comments from old Berliners and Wieners, and most important from the HVK entourage, including Lore Salzburguer. A clear explanation from the way from UNITEL to TELEMONDIAL, the discussion with Niebeling about the filming on the Beethoven 6th. And the most important, a new approach from Nori OHAGA, the former CEO from Sony about the dead of Karajan. The first new son 16th july 1989, explained, that he was in bed ans the servants informed Eliette, now on the centenary I've red Eliette sayng she was very emotioned when Herbert felt in her arms when giving hin a glace of water. Mr Ohaga states that there were talking about jets and future recordings when Karajan felt on his rigth side, he says"A hard atach". A pat it is very interesting to see the DVD to understand the interest of Karajan on filming and the great effords and ¡¡money! he put on to achieve what he wanted.
The reference is ARTHAUS-MUSIK 101459, and I found it in Berlín.
For me it is a must. ¿May be I'm wrong?.

Dear halcover1,
each film is important to learn more about the Maestro. In each film there is certainly a fragment of him that we knew no! In each film there is an interview or an interesting rehearsal that we had not ever seen. I know the beautiful documentary by Gernot Friedel (Harthaus music), it's basic to get an overview on the life and work of the Maestro. The Dornhelm film, "Beauty as I see it" adds some tiles of the mosaic Karajan. For me it's not enough!

Please, halcover1, read our comments in the topic started by John, "Robert Dornhelm DVD"!

Mr Ohaga states that there were talking about jets and future recordings when Karajan felt on his rigth side, he says"A hard atach". In her book, Eliette explains with great detail the last moments on this earth to Herbert von Karajan. I believe that this has happened as telling his wife. There isn't reason to distort the reality is. No, it would be a disrespectful gesture! They were terrible and sweet moments. He looks Eliette, aware of that's left is happening; she captured by his blue eyes, has no time to think or to suffer....it's time for the farewell. She takes him in her arms and he goes away forever, but his memory will remain alive inside her and us, untill we want! ******************************************************************************* Rosy

Hi halcover1!
Here's my comment for the film "Herbert von Karajan, Maestro for the screen", by Georg Wubbold. I'm completely agree with you, halcover1. The impact is beautiful: to see Karajan busy with all those machines, make us understand how the Maestro wanted to leave us something enjoyable! I think it's fun and interesting to watch all the complicated preparations for the videos. Karajan seems to have the gift of ubiquita`. (=be in more places at once). Maybe someone doesn't approve what I have written, sometime ago myself, I would have criticized this post, but now is not so

Hi Jorge and Rosy
Thank you for your recommendations for this film. Certainly the interview with Nori Ohaga would appear to be most important and interesting and possibly worth the price of the DVD alone.
