Remember him so! "16 July: 19 years ago the Maestro left us...I'm writing today, 15 July, these poor words, repeated many times, because tomorrow I will be in Ravenna to attend the concert in tribute to Herbert von Karajan, where the Orchestre National de France, conducted by M° Kurt Masur will perform Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 in fa magg. Op. 68 Pastorale, and Symphony No 5 in do min. Op. 67. For me it will be a very moving moment, I'll be a little sad, but I'm very grateful to the Lord for giving me the gift of loving the Music...very much! Thanks with all my heart to M° Herbert von Karajan and to his great idea and willingness to give everyone the oppurtunity to know his way to making Music" Rosy |

Thank you Rosy for your thoughts on this particular day and I hope that the concert at the Ravenna Festival is a fitting tribute to the Maestro.

Today it is a sad day. But life goes on, and we have the books, cd,s, dvd,s ¡and this web!, to
remember him. I'm now hearing the Beethoven's 9th from 1963, and just thinking on his
inmense work for the expansion of the music. Thanks to him, thanks to all oy you.

Where was Karajan? Dear Friends, unfortunately the concert Tribute to Herbert von Karajan of Ravenna Festival was a big disappointment. There was not a picture of the Maestro, despite the presence of several young people who certainly haven't known him. Then, as was the day of the anniversary of his death, I tought a call for 1 minute's silence. Instead nothing. Nothing. The fact that the evening was a Tribute to the great conductor was written in very small characters, and so most of the partecipants either didn't know... What can I say about the concert? Orchestre National de France conducted by Maestro Kurt Masur : Ludwig van Beethoven , Symphonies No 6 and No 5. A " Pastorale" performed poorly, with errors, uncoordinated, and a Symphony No 5, which, with all the fanfare, it's liked to tourists! But many people were unhappy and deeply disappointed as me. How can someone say that Karajan with his ideal of beauty has failed? Inside me there is no argumentative, I'm only embittered... Rosy |
