Hello! Do any of you know anything about this record label? tinyurl.com/4vaq37A lot of the items in John Hunt's discography marked "unpublished radio broadcast" are in fact issued here, but these cds seem to have vanished from the earth somehow. Any information to clarify this? I suppose there were legal questions. Would be great to know where to get them, though. Even at ebay there are none for sale at the moment. ivan

There are many fascinating recordings listed on that page. Have you tried contacting the creator of the site?

Hi all:
Unlikely there are a lot of Karajan concerts hidden in the archives of radio stations. I'm sure Sender Fries in Berlina nd Austrian Radio who were broadcasting the concerts in Berlin and in Salzburg/Wien have many of them. Some of the Easter Festival (Tetralogy) are alrady in the market, but most of them are, theoretically missing. When I visited the Karajan Institue in Salzburg last Easter I asked, and of course the Institue has not ressources for that. May be it should interesting too start a lobbyng way tryng to have part of those performances oficially available.
As you know, part of those performances are circulating coming from "in house recordings" with an acceptable lebel of sound. But still it is too much unknown.

The Sardana label was distributed from Japan (although confusingly the CDRs all had "Made in the USA" printed on them). The only company I know of who distributed them outside of Japan was www.parnassusrecords.com but they stopped selling the CDRs 3 or 4 years ago. Most of the CDRs were good quality recordings and well worth having, even at the Parnassus price of $25 for each CD. If you want to see a Karajan discography that includes Sardana CDRs and also CDRs from other Japanese labels, look at www.karajan.info . This includes every release up to February 2005. Unfortunately the person who maintained the site stopped updating it and does not answer emails but the information there is invaluable. The site is in Japanese, but enough of the navigation is in English to make it useful to English speakers.
