Four Karajan Memorial Concerts were given in January by the BPO, each conducted by Seiji Ozawa with Anne-Sophie Mutter as the soloist. The venues were Berlin, Paris, Lucerne, Vienna and on each occasion the programme was the Beethoven Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Pathétique.
