Rosy:
Is that book very expensive?. I would like to add it to my big Karajan library, 48 books.
Regards.

Dear Rosy, Dear All, I just received this book: it is just spectacular, fantastic tribute, much better in my view than the other two "cofee table books" available this year -- the one prefaced by Anne-Sophie Mutter and the book of pictures by Erich Lessing focused on Karajan's 1957 performances.
"The Master's style" is a very moving tribute: good, straight introduction from Stéphane Lissner, a couple of words from Eliette, a nice introductury essay and then off we go with about 100 pages of pictures, some of them indeed NEVER seen before...I shall let you discover them for yourselves (NO SPOILERS)...as a dessert, on page 105, a miraculous appendix, an incredible set of documents that got me laughing with joy and I must say, for us all, lovers of the great conductors of the past, got me very moved indeed. You'll have to see for yourselves but the conclusion is clear: buy that thing quick!! Kudos to Japan and Italy for the best 100th anniversary tributes so far. Have a good week--end all! JH

Hello Jacques- Henri! I also think the same as you about the book ( with the rhyme!). Think when I'll tell you of the exhibition devoted to the great Maestro in Milano! They say you can feel his presence. He is everywere, the large poster on the walls, his music envelops you... his baton.. Herbert von Karajan still conducts to the Teatro ala Scala ! _____________________________________________________ Very Best Wishes Rosy
