Karajan's 1957 live performance of the Brahms Violin Concerto with Nathan Milstein has been released on a Tahra CD. It is currently available from German Amazon at www.amazon.de .
As far as I know, this is the first time that this recording has been available.
So far, HMV and Amazon in the UK do not seem to have the CD of this, although Amazon has an MP3 version.
This Brahms performance is from Lucerne. Karajan's complete Lucerne concert from 27th August 1955 was also released on CDs, in November 2009. Strangely, both Amazon and HMV are displaying the wrong cover for the CDs, and Amazon are also displaying a Missa Solemnis by Toscanini under Karajan's name.
