I'm reminded of K's rosette recording of Les Sylphides on the eve of the bicentennial, and realized that it is peculiar he would be interested in such "arrangement" music. Carmen "suites" is another.
Regarding composer's intentions, at least Stravinsky and Werner Henze expressed that K did not perform their music well at all.
