Glad to finally hear the maestro's name pronounced in Spanish, with the playing of his Schumann 1 on a radio station from Mexico.
(The precision of the triplets of Mvt I bar 13 are nonpareil, but wish the timpani was more prominent at end of exposition, one of my favorite passages).
Actually d.c.'s are not the only differences one can find among different Karajan versions of a piece. Gun shots also fit in this category. The "Auf der Jagd" polka has recently replaced the "famous" 7 note phrase on 10:17 of Leonore II as the music that's stuck in my head, and the BPO version has one less shot than the VPO version (also quite slower than VPO).
So there was a basketball game that sold for USD$10000 a seat the other day. I'm sure a Karajan concert at that price could've still sold, at least once in a while. (Nabucco overture might be worth it).
