I was pleasantly surprised to find that the Anne-Sophie Mutter centenary interview on National Public Radio is still available on their website. In 14 minutes Anne-Sophie dispels some of the myths - essential listening for all devotees; and possibly also for those hacks who still persist in peddling fiction. The interview with NPR’s Tom Huizenga follows the short opening advertisement. www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=89313251&m=89347701Regards David

Yes this is a good one. For me an enlightening part was when asked why they got along, her reply was that admiring him was helpful. This agrees with why many didn't get along with K.
There are also a few Mutter interviews on charlierose.com, one of which she discusses Szymanowski and Karajan.
By the way, the theme tune on the "All Things Considered" program on NPR sounds just like Schubert's trio #2, although they claim it was "composed" by someone else.
My previous post should be rephrased: "If Karajan were alive, would he make recordings on the internet"
