The broadcast is listed in both John Hunt's Karajan Discography and his Concert Register.

The performance of "Also sprach Zarathustra" has been released before on Arkadia CD 587.

After about a year in the wings on the Testament site, it would appear that this issue (SBT1474) can now be ordered for delivery in a few weeks. An appropriately timed tribute to Michel Schwalbé.

The CD is now available from Amazon in Germany ( www.amazon.de/Karajan-dirigiert-Mozart-Concertante-Zarathustra/dp/B007XE0KJ2/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358552960&sr=1-2 ).

Strangely, Amazon in the UK is only listing the CD as an import, at a vastly inflated price ( www.amazon.co.uk/Also-Sprach-Zarathustra-Strauss/dp/B007XE0KJ2/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1358552823&sr=1-1 ). As Testament is a UK company, I don't understand why the CD is not yet available from UK sellers. However, the review on the UK site is very positive.

I received the CD from Germany today and I can confirm that the Also Sprach Zarathustra performance is very good, although maybe not as good as the DGG recordings.
