Early this year I was contacted by Matthias Röder, the new Managing Director of the Eliette and Herbert von Karajan Institute and we have spoken on a couple of occasions. As we are all aware, 2014 will be the 25th Anniversary of Karajan's death and Herr Röder has various initiatives in mind to commemorate it. He is anxious to increase awareness of the Anniversary as soon as possible and, together with Deutsche Grammophon, a Facebook page has been set up: www.facebook.com/HerbertvonKarajanIt is gratifying that my website and its attached Forum have been recognised for the part which they have played in keeping alive an awareness of Karajan's achievements. This is good news, it may be a good platform to lobby the institute to release some further archive film on DVD, perhaps a compilation of Karajan in rehearsal as we know there is footage of many Salzburg opera productions such as Carmen, Don Carlos & Fidelio etc.
They may also be in a position to arrange the release on DVD of the superb 1978 Paris TV concert with the BPO and the film 'The Making of an Opera' about the 1967 Salzburg production of Die Walkure.
Perhaps DG will release the entire 240 CD set of all the Karajan DG recordings, so far only available in Japan and hopefully some further un-released live concerts on CD.
This is my personal wish list, if other Forum members post theirs on Facebook you never know we may get what we want.

I've been browsing on Facebook for no more than a total of 5 minutes in my life, but it appears that with the numerous one liner commentaries, the HvK page is going to be unreadable in the near future...
