None of Karajan's Wagner performances at Salzburg were officially recorded on video, as the stage was too dark. The Das Rheingold performance issued by DGG was recorded in a film studio.
However, a video of the 1981 Parsifal from Salzburg is now available on YouTube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IMSK7-ZBpU . The preludes from all 3 acts have been missed out.
It looks like it was recorded from the audience, as the camera remains fixed, apart from zooming in and out. The video is in black and white and is not very clear for the parts of the film I have looked at.
