I noticed that Mahalo wrote the following comment in the thread entitled “Norman Lebrecht”:
One impressive truth. No centenary concert which will be dedicated to Karajan has been fixed yet in Japan. There is a possibility that BPO or VPO will hold it in Japan, which is not declared officially yet - it is even mid March today.
Thank you for this information because earlier this year the Karajan Institute had listed on their site a B.P.O. / Simon Rattle concert to be held on Thursday 27th November 2008 at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. They stated that this was to be part of the “Karajan 2008” commemorations.
I was not convinced that this was indeed a commemorative concert so I did not add the details to my site and, in fact, now I notice that it has disappeared from the Institute’s listing !

Thank you very much for your following up.
I wish BPO/Rattle will have the commemorative concert in Japan. They are the most suitable combination to perform it.
