A few days ago, I found 2 movies in which Karajan speaks in italian. The interviews take place at the Teatro alla Scala. He says that the time has be one of most beautiful of his life! Then speaking of young singers and young conductors etc..

His voice was polite, speaking correct. I like very much. Video quality is bad.

Unfortunately, you must keys the address manually. It works with " Real Player ":

Yes Rosy, i'm italian.

This is the secon time i heard Karajan speaking italian (the first was for the rehearsal of Don Giovanni in 1987 at Salzburg- video Karajan in Salzburg).
Karajan and La Scala is an important chapter of Karajan's life, unfortunately interrupted in 1978.
The nice book of Giuseppe Pugliese remembers us his presence in Milano; unfortunately i am born in 1973, too late for assist at his Requiem and Bohème!!
